A string quartet softly fills the air with classical music.  The Mothers are wearing elegant gowns.  After being escorted to their seats, they light two candles adjoining the Unity candle.  The man of your dreams walks to the center aisle and takes a deep breath.  Your best friends carefully march to the front and await your arrival.  Sighs fill the air as your niece, the most adorable flower girl in the world has ever seen, drops rose petals on a white runner….  And you’re not even in the room. You are standing in the hall with Dad getting ready to make your entrance.  Without a quality wedding video, you will have missed important moments like these that you have been planning since childhood.

We have an excellent relationship with all of the local photographers here in South Florida. In fact, many of our referrals come from them. We recognize that we are both professionals with a job to do, and therefore give the photographer the space they need to do their work. Professional courtesy is always exercised. We know that the bride wants both excellent pictures and video, so we ensure she gets both. We have some links of recommended photographers whose work is outstanding, and whom we’ve developed and excellent working rapport

Every wedding really is unique, but when you have an entire family that cry’s or in some cases bawls there eyes out…lol, you have to think, what an amazing opportunity we have to not only be a part of this but we get to record these heart felt moments for generations to come. We received a thank you from this couple and they commented on how when they looked at their photos (of them crying) compared to the video, the video preserved these moments the best. Are you the kind of person that when you see some one crying you tear up as well?

We are very fortunate to be working in the upper echelon on the wedding industry, our hard work and creative team has enabled us to spend most weekends with clients spending well over 100K for their event. Recently I herd the mother of the bride commenting on the $6,000 cake and how wonderful it was. As I walked away wondering how come she felt like her video was only worth $4000 (wouldn’t spend for our bigger package) and yet the cake was worth $6,000. So why is it that by the time brides look for video they have no money left in their budget? And yet months after the wedding they always say the video was the best investment? Our Survay question is how much should a great wedding video cost?

I am a huge photography buff, Vince however hates his picture takin in the traditional sense. He always says just take my picture why I am doing what I am doing, He hates to just look at the camera. So our question here is aside from your formal family photos how do you feel about always having to look at the photographer taking your picture?

Wedding Music

Wedding Music

I am often asked about songs for the wedding dvd, what works…what dosn’t? When it comes to high end weddings today, from the flowers, dresses, and over all vibe, less is more. Clean and simple.

What type of music do you think will be the most meaning full to generations to come?

Wedding Video Good place

Wedding Video Good place

OK, the title is a little deceptive here. I know it sounds like I’m going to give a list of places. But what can I really suggest that every bride doesn’t already know? Look at our links page if you are still looking. Sure, we’ve shot in all of these locations, and they look great.

So I’m going to suggest something a little different. Instead of thinking about how a place looks for a wedding video, think about how you will feel at that location. Find a place that you enjoy hanging out at. Where you can be active and do something. Where you can be yourself, and where the bridal party will have some fun. I remember one couple who went to big fancy hotel, only to realize that it was crowded and that they didn’t like the attention. Did it come through on the video? Yep.
What I am suggesting is to think about how well the locations will fit into the day and whether they reflect the personalities involved. People being themselves tear through the veneer of the day, making a video that is personal. And in the end, the personality is everything. So our question here is what can brides do to make their location work better for them?

wedding video Heart rings

wedding video Heart rings

I talk so much about stories, that sometimes, I almost forget to talk about what I think a story is. A couple recently asked me “So what’s the story here?” And I must say that I was surprised. No one had ever bothered to ask before. On the surface, it seems like every wedding story is the same, isn’t it? It’s a wedding, after all. But, then, most romances are just about the same too. Boy meets girl (or vice versa). Boy loses girl. Boy wins back girl. And I realized that the story isn’t the plot structure. The plot of almost every wedding is the same. Each story is quite different. The story is about the places the couple has been and the things they were doing. More importantly, it is about how they react to what they were doing. The story is the excitement or nervousness from the bride and the fulfillment of those feelings at the ceremony. It is about the lifelong friendship between the best man and the groom. It’s the playful gestures between the couple that let us know how they’re feeling, and the stolen moments off in the corner that tell us that it really was a special day. The story is the collection of moments that informs us about  how the couple feels about the wedding and each other, and there’s nothing else quite like it. Do we do a good job at telling stories? When you watch our samples do you get a sense of who the couple was?

Suppose a friend told you they had in one hand a book of

professional photos of the day your grandparents were married, and in their other hand a professionally-produced video of that same day, in full color, with stereo sound, but that you could only choose one to view and keep as a family heirloom. Which would you choose?

We have seen too many articles and checklists instructing couples to ask about “3-chip” cameras, various tape  formats, a myriad of editing equipment, and membership in this or that wedding association.  Most of this well meaning advice is given without much education or explanation. Sometimes, a little knowledge can be dangerous.

Anyone can buy the equipment. Anyone can learn the terminology. Almost anyone can learn to use a camera     adequately. But not just anyone can craft a wedding video into a sentimental treasure. This is why you need to    set some of that well-intentioned advice aside and look at the videographer’s work.  It is the only thing any true craftsman wants to be judged by.

Remember, that you’re probably never going to become an expert in video production.  So why not instead become an expert in what makes up a beautiful and tasteful video to you? Ask yourself these questions:

1.  Does the video tell a love story, really showing the emotion?

2.  Is the audio crystal clear, with perfect sound throughout the tape?

3.  Does it transition smoothly from shot to shot?

4.  Is the video free of useless or poor-quality shots?

5.  Does this look like one of the TV shows about dream weddings?

6.  Most importantly, will it make Mom and Dad cry?

Remember, your video will be the most intimate memoir from your wedding day.

Taking the time to select Broadway, based on your own response to our work, will ensure that it is.

Most of us are familiar with the old adage “time is money”.  When you think of time in relation to your video,     there are two types of time; shooting time and production time. Shooting time is the number of hours and  number of camera men used in filming your wedding video. Obviously, ten hours will be more costly than   six hours, and three videographers will cost more than one.

Another type of time you pay for is production time. This includes all of the time spent editing your video,   adding music, graphics, special effects, etc.  It is also the biggest variable in the quality and style of your video.  Generally, the more production time invested in your video, the more polished and more expensive it is.   Incorporated into these time costs are all of the professional equipment and supply costs that Broadwa incurs in creating your video.

In addition to time, talent is the other major factor you are paying for.  This is not as tangible and measurable  as time, but can sometimes be the major factor in determining the cost of your video. Creating a finished production that tells a love story is quite an art, and it will likely be reflected in the price.

Remember, this is your once in a lifetime day, so select a package, price, and style that you will be pleased with many years down the road. Whether $500 or $5000, your Broadway video will likely become the most treasured keepsake from your wedding day.

What an experience the past few months have been! Vince and I are married now, and our wedding was truly amazing. Being engaged for well over a year, we planned slowly and methodically, thinking we had all of the time in the world to take care of things. Brides, beware: you might THINK you have all the time in the world to plan, but the sooner the better! Time crept up so quickly on us, and before we knew it, the wedding was here!

We were married at the beautiful Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, and spent an amazing weekend with our family and friends from across the country. I even surprised Vince at the end of our ceremony with a memory he will never forget! Being a former University of Florida Drummer himself, I secretly arranged for the UF Drum line to march out as soon as we were pronounced Husband & Wife. The look on his face was priceless, and since none of the guests knew about it either, everyone enjoyed the post-ceremony performance. I highly recommend a surprise for your Bride or Groom that they will always remember such as that. I’m sure we will talk about it for
years to come.

We had a perfect day, surrounded by our family and closest friends, and partied until the music stopped. Our flowers by Raffi at Petal Productions all the way from Miami, made not only our ceremony site even more gorgeous, but I could not have imagined a more spectacular ballroom! We enjoyed food, fun, and most of all, made memories. I’d like to thank each and every person who helped with our wedding in any capacity (which would be quite a few people, and way too many to mention one by one… ha ha). I would also like to extend a special thanks to our friend & colleague Roy Llera for our beautiful photos. He is truly an artist in his craft. The endless planning turned out to be well worth it in the end. We ended up with a wedding day we will never forget.
